Let Us Be

We have been discriminated for so long,

Now, it’s time to show you that you are wrong

And make you hold your tongue

By proving you that we are also strong.

We are tired of that place

With no peace;

We are tired of that reddened face

Not because we’ve put make up to look nice,

But slaps we receive every day on our cheeks.

We are tired of society’s interference

While making our own choices.

We are tired of your rules and manipulations

That exclude us from exploring our passions.

Stop your biased ideas

That push us away from our right

To live our life to the fullest.

Let us be who, what and where we want ourselves to be.

Woman, wherever you are,

Stand up for your right in the society,

Stand up for your identity,

And don’t allow him or any stupid beliefs destroy your capacities.
